GAMING GONE WILD
The reason that these newer games steal new generation gamers time is because they make you imagine a goal that may not be possible for you to accomplish in real life. For instance, the "Guitar Hero" series which I dearly love has had a grasp on me for so long that I have more than 10 games! The reason I love these games is because they make me think that I can actually play these wild solos on a plastic guitar. I do have a real guitar of my own, but I can't really play well. Yes I also think that these games have made a lot of controversy because of the length of time that people play for. The reason people don't stop is because a game can actually put you in a situation better then anything else. Another example is that when I'm done a game *ahem* Final Fantasy I usually dream like I am killing the epic final boss and kind of lose control of what goes on around me. I think that the time when it is enough and stop playing for a while is when you know that a kid/adult goes all "Oh my gosh mom what the heck, I'm finishing The final solo of Through the Fire and Flames on expert!" Or when you noticing a kid/adult yell at the tv screen commands, or when everything they do has them looking at the screen and doing it.

I agree that when you're at a screen basically all day that its time to stop. Though I'd have to say that if you start imagining that you can do things that are impossible for you at the moment then thats a warning sign to stop.

As a professional gamer, I have also expeirienced the affects of the addicting games which I have played. Sometimes I may play so much that I would forget about my homework, then I would have to stay up to finish it. I really like games, but sometimes it may not be the best thing to do since it may affect your vision, how you do in school, and personally. I have set limits to myself of gaming around 30minutes-1hour a day. I'm actually really bad in guitar hero though, my fingers are slow except for my index fingers since I usually type with them.
